Nuttall Fresh Food Solutions wins RAC Cooling Industry Award 2011

Following their nomination at the prestigious RAC Cooling Industry Awards, Alan Nuttall Ltd has taken the top award for 'Refrigeration Innovation of the Year'.  The awards, which were held at the London Hilton Park Lane on 28th September 2011, celebrated leading products and performance within the retail refrigeration and air conditioning industry.

Nuttall Fresh Food Solutions won the award for its innovative Air-cell multideck cabinet - collaboration with Adande Refrigeration.  The fresh food display unit, which could revolutionise the future of multideck design, offers an 'open' display refrigeration cabinet which is as efficient as a conventional closed unit, reducing the problems of cold-air spillage and cold aisle syndrome.

Utilising pioneering technology, the Air-cell unit uses small air flow managed cells with a low velocity air curtain, therefore saving energy and producing a more stable temperature.  The Air-cell cabinet uses 20% less energy than a conventional open multideck, whilst retaining the 'retail-friendliness' of an open display - "Truly innovative," said the judges.

Speaking of the award win, Lee Martin, CEO of Nuttall's Fresh Food Solutions, said, "We're delighted that the Air-cell has won this award, as the very strong field in this category showed that the refrigeration industry is keeping the bar high when it comes to innovation.  The further development that we have planned for this product is expected to double the energy savings to 40%."

The awards were presented by award-winning comedy star Russell Kane and were attended by over 600 professionals from the commercial refrigeration and air conditioning industry.
