Members of staff from Dudley-based shopfitting and interior display specialist The Alan Nuttall Partnership Ltd have pledged to undertake a cycle challenge to raise money for charity.
A team of 10 cyclists and two support crew will leave the company’s Dudley site in Hall Street at 5am on 27th June 2015 to cycle 134 miles to Weston-Super-Mare, in honour of two staff members who are both battling terminal cancer.
The route will take them through Worcester, Tewkesbury and Gloucester to the outskirts of Bristol and down the coast into Weston-Super-Mare.
Phil Denston, The Alan Nuttall Partnership Ltd’s Woodshop Manager, said:
It is the people you work with every day that are vital in making a company what it is, and it’s devastating to see your colleagues and friends going through such a difficult time, so we decided to do something positive to raise some money for charities of their choice. The bike ride should take us around 14 hours to complete and will be a challenging day but I know their families are over the moon that we’re doing this.
Managing Director, Nino Calandra added:
We are very proud of the team taking this initiative to support their colleagues and we will do everything we can to assist. We are fortunate to have a long-serving workforce and it is fantastic to see everyone pulling together.
The chosen charities to benefit from the team’s efforts are the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity (Fight Against Skin Cancer Appeal) and Brain Tumour Research.
The team are also planning to host a further fundraising event on their return.
