Paul Smith, Coal Drops Yard

Project Overview

Paul Smith sought our help for a new retail store for the iconic fashion brand in Coal Drops Yard, a new shopping district at Kings Cross, as part of the redevelopment of the redundant old Kings Cross archways.

The Grade II listed building and regulations brought with it both design and construction restraints and logistical complexities, however, with the support of our brilliant supply chain working around the glorious history of the unique space, we were able to preserve the charm and contrast it with the modern retail fixture installations.

Our Solution

Working to a 12 weeks on-site programme, we delivered an exceptional finish to the project, bringing to life the considered and respectful industrial style design. A perfect accompaniment to the Paul Smith iconic clothing and accessories design.

One particularly unusual feature in the space is 120,000 Japenese Yen coins individually, hand-glued to all four walls of part of the space, creating a fantastic effect.
