We raised a “fitting” £50,000 for two invaluable charities, at a glittering event to celebrate its first 50 years with guest appearance by comedian Sir Lenny Henry.
The money raised by The Alan Nuttall Partnership, which has divisions in Hinckley, Leicestershire, and Dudley, through table sales, an auction and a raffle on the night is set to be split between Cancer Research UK and the Alzheimer’s Society, charities close to chairman Alan Nuttall’s heart.
Spectacular prizes up for grabs at the event at the National Motorcycle Museum, Solihull, included a week’s luxury sailing around the Mediterranean with crew and a private chef.
Alan said: “The evening was a fantastic chance to celebrate our first 50 years with many of the local and national suppliers Nuttall’s has worked with over the years, but also the opportunity to raise invaluable funds for charities that are close to my heart.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported what was an amazing evening. Raising £50,000 is an outstanding and fitting result, going a long way to help our chosen charities continue their great work with people who need it most.”
After dinner speaker comedian Sir Lenny Henry, an engineering apprentice himself before becoming famous as a stand-up, was also a resounding success at the celebration, where nearly 300 guests enjoyed a three-course meal and evening of entertainment.
We were honoured to welcome Susan White, Local Fundraising Manager for Cancer Research UK and Emma Dowler, Community Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society to the Dudley showroom for the cheque presentation of our fundraising efforts.
“Thank you for your wonderful support of our work helping us to beat cancer sooner. All funds raised will go towards the charity’s research to beat over 200 types of cancer, helping to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.” Susan White, Cancer Research UK
“We are ever so grateful to Nuttalls and all their staff for the tremendous fundraising of £25,000 on our behalf and appreciate all the work that went in to organising the 50th celebration. This money will fund important research into dementia and valuable services for people living with the condition.” Emma Dowler, Alzheimer’s Society
Our Chairman Mr Nuttall, proudly handed over the cheques totalling £50,000. A wonderfully enlightening visit, from two great causes! We’re hoping to be able to see a little more of where these funds go and how they will directly help people who are most in need, and essential research into future breakthroughs.
With 600 members of staff, employee-owned Nuttall’s was set up by Alan Nuttall in his garage with just £137 in 1966. Ranking in Leicestershire’s Top 200 Companies*, it has grown to become one of the UK’s largest, privately-owned interior fit-out, design and display specialists, with an annual turnover of over £60m.
Cancer Research UK receives no Government funding for its ground-breaking research. So funds raised through supporters like The Alan Nuttall Partnership is crucial to the work of doctors, nurses and scientists who work day and night to fight cancer on all fronts.
